Gellimy is a positive, personable, and enthusiastic teacher. She teaches voice and beginning piano in the Sacramento area for students ages 4 and up. She can also teach music theory, and teach students how to play and read contemporary music using chord sheets and lead sheets.
Gellimy teaches jazz, classical, pop, country, musical theatre, broadway, CCM, RnB and other genres and styles. She believes that great technique is essential to any and every style. Besides improving in vocal technique, building up confidence is the most important aspect of a performer's education. Gellimy is readily equipped to help the student expand their range, strengthen their instrument and build repertoire.
Gellimy also teaches beginning piano and music theory. She can teach students to read with musical excellence, learn how to play and read contemporary music using chord sheets, or both depending on the goals and preference of the student. She can also tutor students who are enrolled in music theory or other music classes in school and may need supplemental aid to their musical educational endeavors.
Gellimy is passionate about cultivating the "total package performer". She will help students build a solid foundation of musicianship, technique, and professionalism while tailoring to the student’s unique style and goals. Most importantly, part of her lesson plan includes allowing the student to discover their unique musical personality and style, encourage creativity, boost confidence in performing, and most importantly enjoying every lesson and performance.
